Bazaar
Delete your account
Applies to the Bazaar shopping app for iOS and Android.
You do not need the app to do this. If you have already uninstalled Bazaar, use the email route below — it works exactly the same and we do not ask you to reinstall anything.
How to request it
Send an email to sheikalthafdev@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Bazaar account”, and include the phone number you sign in with.
We verify that the request comes from the owner of that number — by a one-time code to the number itself — before deleting anything, so that nobody can delete someone else's account by knowing their phone number. We complete verified requests within 30 days, and normally within a few working days.
A Delete account button inside the app, under Account, is coming in a future update. Until it ships, the email route above is the way to do it, and it is the whole of it — we are not asking you to wait for anything.
What gets deleted
- Your name
- Your phone number, and with it your ability to sign in
- Every saved delivery address, including contact names, phone numbers and delivery instructions on them
- Your notifications
- Any active recurring delivery subscription — these are cancelled
- The link between you and your past orders
What is kept, and why
Your past orders remain, in anonymised form. The items, amounts and dates stay on record; your name, phone number and delivery address are stripped from them.
An order is a completed sale between you and a shop, not just an entry in your history. Both the shop and we have accounting and tax record-keeping obligations attached to it, and a shop's books cannot have transactions vanish out of them retrospectively. So the commercial record survives and the personal detail does not.
One thing we cannot do for you. The shops in Bazaar are independent businesses. A shop you ordered from holds its own record of the sale it made, under its own obligations, and deleting your Bazaar account does not reach into a shop's own books. If you want a specific shop to erase what it holds about you, contact that shop directly. We would rather say this plainly than let the word “delete” imply more than it does.
Can I come back afterwards?
Yes — you can sign up again with the same phone number. It will be a new account with no addresses and no order history, because the old ones are gone. Deletion is not reversible and we cannot restore a deleted account.
Just want to sign out?
If you only want to leave the device, sign out from the Account screen instead. That clears your session on the device and leaves your account, addresses and orders intact.
What we store in the first place is set out in full in the privacy policy.
