What it does
Bazaar is not a national retailer with an app on the front. Every shop in it is a real shop, run by the people who run it, selling what is actually on their shelves today.
Open the app and you are looking at shops near you and what they stock. No sign-up wall, no phone number, no “create an account to continue”. You are asked for a number at checkout, because an order needs somewhere to arrive.
A shop sells the same thing in several sizes at several prices, and an app that flattens that into one number is an app that gets orders wrong. Bazaar carries the pack structure through from the shop's own counter software.
You pay the shop when the order arrives, the way you would at the counter. The app takes no payment, stores no card and asks for no UPI ID — there is no payment instrument of yours anywhere in it.
Milk does not need re-ordering every morning. Where a shop offers a round, you pick the pack and the days once and it simply arrives.
For shops
Bazaar is the customer-facing half of a point-of-sale system that shops use to run their billing, stock, customers and credit. Orders from the app land in the same place as sales made at the counter — so stock is one number, and a customer is one customer, whether they walked in or tapped.

Privacy

Browsing needs no account and no personal detail. We start holding a name, a number and an address at the point you place an order, because that is what a delivery takes.
The shop you buy from sees your name, number and delivery address — it has to, to deliver. It is an independent business, so it keeps its own record of that sale. No other shop sees any of it.
No advertising, no data brokers, no selling of order histories. The app ships no analytics, advertising or attribution SDK, requests no advertising ID, and asks only for approximate location — never a precise fix, never in the background.
You can delete your account, from the app or from here. It removes your name, phone number, addresses and the link to your past orders. The orders themselves stay on record in anonymised form, because a completed sale is an accounting record for both sides.
